Terms of Service

The plain version: 14 days free, then monthly, cancel any time, no refunds on time already paid for.

Last updated 5 September 2026

1. The agreement

By creating a Handly account you agree to these terms. If you are signing up on behalf of a company, you confirm you are allowed to bind that company.

2. Free trial and billing

Handly starts with a 14-day free trial. We ask for a card at sign-up, but you are not charged during the trial.

When the trial ends your subscription starts automatically at the plan price you selected, and renews every month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from Billing.

3. No refunds

Subscription fees are non-refundable, including for partial months and unused time. When you cancel, your agent keeps working until the end of the period you have already paid for and then stops.

We do not pro-rate refunds for downgrades. If something has gone genuinely wrong on our side, email us — we would rather fix it than argue about it.

4. Your responsibilities

Handly answers your phone in your name, which means the things it says and does are attributed to your business. You agree to:

  • Keep your services, pricing, hours and business rules accurate, because the agent quotes from them
  • Comply with the call recording, AI disclosure and messaging laws that apply where you operate
  • Only use Handly to contact people who expect to hear from your business
  • Honour bookings the agent makes on your behalf, or cancel them promptly

5. What the agent is and is not

The agent is software. It answers calls, gathers job details, quotes from the prices you configured and books into your calendar. It can mishear, misjudge or miss something a human would catch.

Prices the agent gives are estimates based on your configuration, not binding quotes, unless you have told it otherwise. You remain responsible for the work you agree to do and the price you charge.

6. Phone numbers

We provision a phone number for your agent through Twilio. The number is licensed to you for as long as your subscription is active. If your account closes, the number is released and cannot be recovered, so keep your own advertised number and forward it rather than printing the agent number on your van.

7. Acceptable use

You may not use Handly for robocalling, spam, scams, harassment, or any unlawful purpose, or attempt to disguise the agent as a specific real person other than yourself. We may suspend an account immediately for this kind of abuse.

8. Availability

We work hard to keep the agent answering, but Handly depends on telephony and AI providers we do not control. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and we are not liable for calls missed during an outage.

9. Liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for lost profits, lost jobs or indirect damages.

10. Ending the agreement

You can cancel any time from Billing. We may end your account for non-payment or for breaching these terms. You can export your data before you leave; after closure we delete it as described in the Privacy Policy.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia, Canada, and the courts there have exclusive jurisdiction.
